Sabine Devieilhe once again weaves a love story through music, this time in collaboration with Mozart. The talented French soprano's debut album on Erato, titled "Le grand theatre de l'amour", brought to life a fictional narrative using music composed by Rameau. In contrast, "Mozart - The Weber Sisters" delves into Mozarts own life story, focusing on the three Weber sisters - Aloysia, Konstanze, and Josepha - who had a significant impact on the young composer.

Mozart first encountered the Weber sisters in Mannheim in 1777, when he was just 21 years old. Despite initially being infatuated with Aloysia, who later became a renowned opera singer, it was Konstanze who captured his heart and eventually became his wife. Konstanze proved to be a devoted spouse, outliving Mozart by nearly half a century and working tirelessly to preserve and promote his musical legacy long after his passing.

Through "Mozart - The Weber Sisters", Sabine Devieilhe pays homage to the complex dynamics of love and relationships in Mozarts life, as reflected in his compositions inspired by the Weber sisters. This album not only showcases Devieilhe's stunning vocal abilities but also offers listeners a deeper insight into the personal struggles and triumphs that shaped the life and music of one of the greatest composers in history.
